Humilitating the Poor for Amusement. Wonder how you would like to be taking advantage of

Three middle class young men see a Homeless man and offer him $200 to eat mud; Two inner city Drug Dealers offer a young mother $300 bucks to lick a trash dumpster.  Three women trick an uneducated person into cleaning their house by having them sign a contract that they know she doesn't understand. The woman ends up thinking she is going to be paid just to find out that she has signed a contract to work for free or two dollars a day. Yes the third one is not legal in the United States but some people are not aware that this is illegal. They may keep her working there for months or even years for no money. She may also be physically abused by her employer because she was convinced that is legal. 

This happens to a lot of people in the hood or poor people in general thanks to poverty and lack of Education this is a reality for a lot of people and because humans today lack a sense of compassion for their fellow human beings. They either want to laugh at some poor homeless man by paying him to humiliate himself for their enjoyment. The drug dealers should know better because they have experienced poverty but in their case selling drugs have robbed their humanity from them so they no longer have compassion.  Still others want free maid and child care service and have figured out a way to get this without being caught. Find a woman who either can not read or can not comprehend what she is reading and convince her that you will pay her well for her service and then refuse to pay her. They may convince her that because she signed a contract she now must work for her. They may use her fear of the Police by convincing her they will call them on her if she does not work for them.

Most poor people have been so deeply humiliated or mistreated by people for so long that they are not humiliated easily which would explain both the Homeless man and the woman paid to lick the trash dumpster.  They have been humiliated for free so much that now someone is giving them money they need to pay a bill or buy some food to do humiliate themselves.  Yes they are not happy to do the humiliating act but for them they are more worried about the bill they need to pay or they have some other financial difficulty that needs taken care of.  Men who love to be humiliated also pay the women to humiliate them.  This actually tends to be easier for the women because after all they are not being degraded they are the ones doing the degrading.

We as a Society are losing our compassion and respect for our fellow human beings. Life is precious and all people should be treated with the same respect that we want to be treated.  Unfortunately, we have lost that compassion.  Now we want what we want and after all the Poor are there for us to mistreat and abuse.  Just a reminder Jesus started life poor and homeless. 

Strangers need to hold their advice especially if you can't control your kids

A lot of people feel free to give poor strangers advice or scorn, both online and in real time. Actually, its rude to do this, but it happens all the time. Just remember this while you feel free to give unsolicited advice we also have the urge to give you advice too. How do you justify telling someone to get a job or how to spend their money when your five year old is running up and down the grocery store and injuring people with their misbehaving.  Most poor women are bold enough to tell you off and if you were so rude to look down at your nose at them, they will pull your card. I was in a grocery store and this middle class woman with three children who were tearing up the store running grocery carts into people, screaming at the tops of their lungs and throwing temper tantrums. The mother only said in a meek voice
"Honey, please don't do that" while the older kids were running around.
She felt she should be able to go before me since I didn't have a job. She started giving me advice about going to work. I refused to justify myself to this rude women instead I offered my own advice.
"Why don't you control your children?" I asked. "Are you afraid of them." My children snickered. "I have 12 kids with me and all of them know better than to act a fool. Why can't you control your three." She glared at me. "You must be working to many hours or your weak. I wouldn't give advice to anyone when you can't control your kids." I know the woman was surprised when I paid for my groceries with cash. She did shoot back with a " Keep your legs closed" My nice told her that only half the kids were mine.

People are worse online with their advice, not only the general public but also Political commentators or writers. You may have preconceived notions about people but you should be aware that the poor person you are lecturing has opinions about you. You don't mind forming incorrect opinions about complete strangers don't get butt hurt when that person gives it back. If you do not have the Home training not to mind your business and the person answers you back and YOU get offended you reap what you sowed. A lot of Middle class people feel like they have the right to take poor people to task about things that is not your business then want to cry because you give it back to them. I hate for some Conservative or Liberal telling me I should have waited or got married before I started my family. When I tell them that they need to stop working so many hours and spend time with their kids so I didn't have to worry about their kids shooting mine in a school shooting. You have a problem with when I started mine; I have a problem with the hours you spend with your kids. They become upset like I'm getting out of my place by daring to question someone in a different class. All that means is you have more money than me you certainly do not have manners.

This has nothing to do with race because black middle class do the same thing as white people. Larry Elder thinks because he writes that he can tell people when to have children and how not to be poor. Since he is speaking to poor people I informed him that most poor people do not have any interest in becoming middle class. He seemed stunned that someone would tell him this. I hate to inform people that we have no desire to be middle class. Why would we want to be stressed out, having more bills, and working so much that we never see your kids. Some middle class people are slaves to their things. Poor people know that anyone can lose things and all those hours away from your kids so you can have an expensive car is not worth it.

I had a member of Black Lives Matter ask me why I was so proud of being from the hood. I should be ashamed of where I am from. The people from the Hood including me educated this young privileged woman. You wanna make a member of BLM angry call them privilaged especially if you have the nerve to pull their card in front of whites. People from the Hood don't care. A poor person from the hood will let them know we are sick of you treating us worst than white people. We will let them know that they treat us the way they claim white people treat them. We also ask them if they were taught to respect their elders? They either shut up or start hurling insults.

Jesus said "How can you help take out the speck out of your brother's eyes when you have a log in your own eye. First remove your log before helping your brother remove his speck."  Remember this everyone has stereotypes about every one else. If your so rude that you feel you can advise poor people then don't get so offended when we give you advice back based on prejudices.

Remember this the poor don't mind being poor and we work just as hard as you do.

Those that think churches should lose tax exemption should try living in the hood

I have heard a lot of people who want the church to lose their tax exempt status.  These folks never lived in the Hood, nor had to ever depend on Charity.  The majority of help in the ghettos come from the Salvation Army and St. Vincent's De Paul.  Both are Religious institutions.

Small churches, like City Reach, have outreaches with the poor.  They reach out to Convicted Felons,  people who are addicted to drugs, people trying to leave the Street gangs.  They do so out of love for their fellow human beings.

Last year when I went through issues with my health and losing my home the church women helped me from Pastor Melissa and Miss Jeanne who helped me clean my house to Miss Pam who took me to purchase my furniture at Goodwill. This is only some of the help I received.

Food Banks, clothing drives, Soup kitchens, and toy drives are mostly done by Christian churches.

There are no Grocery stores in my neighborhood.  We have a butcher shop that sells food that is not edible. We do not have a bank either.  The Farmers market comes on Saturday but a lot of people have to work.

Ask a former addict trying to stay clean off of Crack or heroin that feel so unlovable what Real Christian love is? Ask someone who left the gang but continue to live the Thug lifestyle, to hear positive things about you.  Instead of hearing negative things as they tell you about the Lord they serve.

City Reach Braddock offers a Friday meal with their service. A lot of Homeless people eat there.

So my question to people who do not want the Church to be tax exempt what are you doing for the poor.  The United Way doesn't help the poor the Salvation Army does.

Infant Mortility and Poor Women

Yesterday my daughter who is eight months pregnant received a visit from the Healthy Start Project. It’s a federal program designed to cut the Infant Mortality rate among poor and African American women. The Program educates poor women about how to keep their babies from being low birth weight and keep them alive for the first year. Twenty-six years ago my daughter was enrolled in this program as a research subject for the Project. It was called the same thing.


I got to thinking about Infant Mortality and Poverty since impoverished women seem to have a problem with low birth rates and infant mortality. Not one article written by doctors could explain to me why. They could only guess. The truth is Poor women do NOT trust people who do research or even middle-class people. We are not going to just open up to people who want to study us. I wonder how middle-class people would feel if we researched them and treated them like we were monkeys in a cage.




How do we know that poor women lose more babies than rich women? As for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), we know the rules. Most of us Grandmothers remember putting our kids to bed on their bellies, but in 1995, when my youngest daughter was born, we were taught to put babies on their backs. We did it, because just like mothers all over the world, we feared SIDS.

It remains that way. I never advised my daughters to put my grandchildren on their backs because I wanted them to survive.


I am weary of researchers linking everything to poverty. Lots of things cannot be blamed on poverty alone. I am also leery of African-American women being lumped together. If you are lumping women together by race and not dividing them up by income level, how can you be sure they are all impoverished? The  majority of African American women are NOT impoverished and I doubt that the researchers know how many poor white women they interviewed if they weren't classified by white.


  The same with Latinos every Latino is not poor. The only factor that poor people have in common that may be different is stress, but mostly we are stressed because we have no money or because of the violence in our communities. However, middle-class people still seemed more stressed because a lot of them are stuck in jobs that they hate




 

Slum Lords Preying on the Poor

I wrote in yesterday's blog about becoming homeless. Today I'm going to write about Slumlords, a problem I've had to deal with several times in my life.

A slumlord in the ghetto doesn't care about his property. He doesn't care about the safety of his tenant,  he only cares about his/her money. He comes at the beginning of the month for his money and that's it.  The City,  borough, or Township is usually after him about the condition of the property because he doesn't worry about cutting the grass or getting rid of the weeds. He also doesn't pay the taxes all the time.

I've been unlucky enough to have had several landlords who were slum lords.  I'm going to write about my experience with each one.

The first one owned a triplex and sealed the window seals.  He never fixed anything that broke or blamed everything on the tenant. The cement outside steps needed to be fixed they were a tripping hazard.  My daughter tripped and fall down the steps and had a seizure. This was such a bad experience I moved to public housing because I needed a safe place for my children and I to live.  This one paid his taxes though.

The second one literally had one tenant move out while another moved in. He never fixed anything and had a problem buying new water heaters. The water heater broke every three months and he would replace it with old water heaters  He did not like paying his taxes either. I had a hole in my kitchen floor that my daughter fell into and was literally stuck there.

I moved from that one to a Boarding House run by a friend.  Well he got hooked on crack and didn't pay the bills so all the Utilities got shut off.

The last man was the worse.  He was told several hundred times that cats,  raccoons, and other wild animals were coming into the house.  He did nothing about it choosing instead to blame the cats on me. I got called the Cat woman despite only having two cats.

He tried to illegally evict me sending me a text telling me I had two days to move.

He had the water shut off and the meter taken out. He then called the Health Department and Children Youth and Families,  the Child Welfare department of the state.

How does this happen? I don't have any credit at all.  I never pass a credit check and I do not want credit cards to help.  I also have no idea about managing money I'm poor there is never any money to manage.
The property is usually cheap and it's in 15104 which is my requirement.

I live in a place where the property is cheap and well maintained.  She fixes what needs fixed and follows all laws.  More than likely I will stay for years because she's a real landlord.

Pretending to be Poor Doesn't Make It Real

I was stunned and decided to see if this was real were people in other classes were actually Dumpster Diving for food. I found this to be true. I'm not quite sure why people who have never been hungry wants to play pretend but your being offensive as hell. YES you're being offensive. You're making fun of people who are hungry, really hungry, not rich and middle class people engaging in role play.

Apparently this has been going on since 2011. I don't see them in Da Hood so at least they are not eating the food that some hungry and homeless person.

I was homeless during the month of December and I've been hungry several times in my life and it's not pretty it's certainly not a game.

There is a store called The Free Store in Braddock open to anyone. My friend Gisele Fetterman runs it. Anyone who needs or wants something can go there. Sometimes the Free Store receives donations from different Clothing stores or other Corporations.

I'm just gonna keep it real readers, these Corporations are not donating to the middle and Upper Class they are donating to the POOR and pushing poor people out of the way to STEAL from the poor when you are driving an SUV is immoral and greedy. If you want to be poor quit your jobs and give away all your possessions, I promise you this is not something you would ever want to repeat.
